Pastor Sanford grew up in rural North Carolina. He was born in Lowell, North Carolina, in 1941, but grew up on his families farm in Gaston County. Glenn was saved at the age of 12 at the Sandy Plains Baptist church in that county. Later his family moved to Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina, and while attending the First Baptist Church there God called him to preach at the age of fifteen. Several of his high school years were spent at Bob Jones Academy in Greenville, South Carolina.
His preparation for the ministry took place at Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga, TN. He graduated in 1968 with a Graduate of Theology Degree. In that same year he founded what became the Eastside Baptist Church of Mooresville, North Carolina in his living room. Since 1968 He has pastored 5 fulltime churches in his 40 years of ministry. In 1982 he received his Doctor of Divinity Degree from Faith Bible College in Milton, FL. He has pastored Westside Baptist Church for the last fifteen years. Over 3,000 souls have been saved under his ministry. Preacher Sanford’s messages are simple and straight to the heart.
Glenn’s wife, Frances was born and reared on a farm in Rowan County. The two met at church.
Frances worked at The Sword of the Lord ministry in Murfreesboro, TN. For seven years. She has been a constant help in Glenn’s ministry and the two together make a great team in the Lord’s work. They have five children and five grandchildren.
